How the score works
The score only goes up: the more you play, the higher it gets. Points come from three places.
- Playing
- Every finished game of five moves or more earns 10 points (5 if it was short). A draw adds half a win's bonus, and a win adds the bonus: against the engine, the opponent's Elo ÷ 40 (20 for the 800 rung, up to 75 for the full engine), 25 on Lichess, 15 against a friend. The first 20 games of each day count.
- Practice
- 3 per puzzle solved, 5 per daily game won, 5 per lesson, 4 per mistake of yours learned, and 1 per master move guessed.
- Likes
- 5 for every like another player gives one of your games, up to 10 likes per game.
Strength is separate, and it can go down: an Elo-style performance over your last 30 games against the engine, once you have played five. It measures how well you play; the score measures how much.
Every finished game is replayed on our server before it counts, and only players who chose a public profile appear here. More in Help.
